About Us

We are a small group of Afro-Americans from the United States of America (We make the distinction because Mexico's inhabitants are also North Americans). We are educators and historians that focus on the African diaspora in general and the African presence in Mexico in particular. We are headquartered in Yanga, Veracruz Mexico, 'the first self-liberated African city in the Americas', and our mission is to restore and reestablish the city of Yanga to its original intent, a haven for Afro-descendants. In view of the United States of America's current (and past) political posture, we believe that the U.S.A. continues to move counterproductive to our life and livelihood. 

We believe the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome. We are committed to doing something different!

We will save ourselves and simultaneously, we will save many, many other marginalized people. You are cordially invited to join us in this most honorable endeavor.
